College Financial Prep - Monthly Group Workshop Program

For 12th Grade Families who want to be involved in the process and the work.   We'll discuss FAFSA, TAP and CSS Profile, developing a financially friendly college list, the Excelsior Scholarship and other scholarships, analyzing acceptances and awards, filing appeals, acquiring student loans and more... All focused on  minimizing your college costs!

In 11th Grade or Earlier, we recommend:

  • Project costs for various colleges and universities (specific to the family) prior to submission of applications
  • Student Loan / Financial Literacy Lesson with Student and Parents (ideal for before applications are submitted -or- before the final college decision is made)
  • Divorce & College Planning to maximize cost savings.
  • Develop a college list
  • Develop Activity Resume
  • Explore potential majors or careers

During 12th Grade and Through College and Graduate School, we recommend:

  • FAFSA - which should be completed every year that the student is in college or graduate school.**
  • CSS Profile - if requested by the college for every year that the student is in college or graduate school.
  • Non Custodial Parent CSS Profile * - for separated and divorced families
  • State Financial Aid Forms (ie. NYS TAP)
  • NYS Excelsior Scholarship Applications
  • Institutional Financial Aid Applications
  • Student Loan Acquisition
  • Parent Loan Acquisition
  • Filing Appeals - Due to change in circumstances while the student is in college; such as job loss, loss of parent, divorce.
  • Private Scholarship Search

A la carte services are provided on either an hourly basis or based upon a flat fee structure.  A la carte services are not part of a package and do not include any future services or consultation.  Additional services requested by the client will be billed to the client accordingly.

*Services, such as the CSS Profile, may be necessary for an additional fee depending on the colleges that your child applies to.  College Financial Prep will advise if this application is necessary for your child when the college list is complete.    Our complete service listing is above.

** There is no specific fee charged by College Financial Prep for the preparation of FAFSA applications.  The FAFSA application is free for all to submit.  All professional fees charged by College Financial Prep are for advice, support and guidance.

CEO of College Financial Prep

Vicki Vollweiler, MBA, CDC, the founder and CEO of College Financial Prep, provides a full range of college funding and college admissions services for families as both parents and students prepare to enter college.  Vicki is both a College Planning Expert and a Divorce Financial Coach helping parents to  navigate financial aid, scholarships, student loans and college planning.  The goal is for each client to be fully informed of options and opportunities so that both the student and the parent can make the best decisions for themselves and their family. 

Vicki, a divorced parent, is the proud Mom of two children, one who is now in a PhD program and one who will be preparing for college shortly.  Her fur baby, Maggie, provides joy to all who meet her.
