Determine Your Best Financial Options

College Financial Prep strives to help families afford the college with the best academic, social and financial fit.  We are pleased to offer the following:

Money Saving Services

PRIOR TO SUBMITTING COLLEGE APPLICATIONS, COLLEGE FINANCIAL PREP:
  • Works with families to strategically develop a college list that will likely offer your child more merit aid dollars, regardless of financial situation.
  • Considers if the family has extenuating circumstances such as divorce, loss of employment, large medical expenditures or other extenuating circumstances.
  • Evaluates Expected Family Contribution (EFC) for both Undergraduate and Graduate students
  • Determines net costs prior to and after the submission of college applications.
  • Determines an appropriate list of colleges and universities to apply to based on the needs of the student.

AFTER SUBMITTING COLLEGE APPLICATIONS, COLLEGE FINANCIAL PREP:
  • Completes financial aid forms including FAFSA, CSS Profile, TAP, Excelsior and any college specific applications for both the Undergraduate and Graduate levels.  (For divorced families, specific nuances for custodial and non-custodial parents are adhered to.)
  • Assists families with verification as requested by various colleges and universities.
  • Work with families (and their respective college financial aid offices) that have had a downward change in circumstances that may not be reflected in the financial aid forms.
  • Provide assistance with scholarship essays as needed.

UPON RECEIPT OF COLLEGE ACCEPTANCES AND FINANCIAL AID OFFERS:
  • Evaluate your Financial Aid Awards and determine the "best offer."
  • Provide net price costs for all schools in which your student was accepted.
  • Negotiate/appeal financial aid awards.
  • Provide student loan advisement upon college selection. (Government based loans vs. Private loans.)
